The Guilford County Substance Abuse Treatment Center, run by Bridgeway, has passed a state inspection and will be able to start admitting new clients again within 10 days. Admissions were suspended last month when inspectors found violations at the facility. This is great news and I’m very glad to hear it. » Read the press release.

Stand-alone antivirus applications are dangerous because they can not adequately protect users and so create a false sense of security, according to the top malware expert at Trend Micro. However, the company continues to sell its stand-alone antivirus app because of 'customer demand'.

An engineer at BioWare/EA, Jason Spangler, presented "Recent Trends in U.S. Game Development Processes" at CEDEC 2008 in Tokyo, Japan last week and has put his presentation online. CEDEC is the Japanese equivalent to the GDC’s Game Developer Conference in the United States.

Highland Capital Partners has led a $28.7 million Series C round of funding for Digg Inc., a Seattle-based social news website, according to company officials.Lexington, Mass.-based Highland Capital was joined in the funding by previous Digg investors Greylock Partners, which operates an office in Waltham, Omidyar Network and SVB Capital.
